OpenDarwin was a collaboration project with Apple in the early and mid-2000s to produce a (primarily) command-line Darwin derivative (that is, an OS based on the Darwin kernel) and to provide an environment in which to build and develop Mac OS X source code. The project unfortunately was shut down in 2007. In the words of the project administrators, it had become "a mere hosting facility for other open-source projects," which was nowhere near its intended goal.

Compatibility: 

System Requirements: For PPC, same as Mac OS X v10.3.2, i.e. 128 MB RAM, G3 or newer processor; for Intel x86, unknown but probably similar to PPC requirements, i.e. 128 MB RAM

Issues: AirPort wireless cards on PowerPC hardware are detected, but cannot be configured; power management does not work.

This page shall become a place for the Russian Mac OS installers (hopefully).
Bootable image with installer would be best methinks.

Too bad the 8.1 and 7.5.3 installer do not seem to do their job decently.
I´m unable to figure out whats wrong, as Russian is out of my scope.

First DL: RS-8.1 found on the net, useless as its the 8.1 update installer needing 8.0.

Second DL: RS-7.5.3 taken from Mac Anthology ´99.
The System folder from floppy 1 and an English DiskCopy to mount the floppy images was added for convenience. The image is bootable with SheepShaver.

This is the original installer taken from Mac Anthology 2001 DVD volume 7.

  • Top DL: Please note that the first IMG is not bootable, but merely contains the 9.1 installer and the CD goodies which Apple did choose to add those days.

  • 2nd DL: French version of Mac OS 9.1 (Universal), full install for any Macintosh capable of booting up to and installing Mac OS 9.1
Compatibility: 
  • Notes:
    1. The optional install folder labeled "Logiciels Adobe" containing the Reader 4.0 and ATM installers appears to be damaged (I get an error of -199 occured). This error occurs in the F693-2581 image and is carried over into the bootable .iso
       
    2. If burning the bootable .iso image to a CD blank or mounting the image using any software other than the "Virtual CD/DVD Utility", then the image must be locked beforehand and at all times before using (do check as it is unlocked in the zip archive).

As the title says, this is MacOS 7.6.1 taken from Mac Anthology `99 DVD No. 1.
The disk image holds a clean install of the image Apple provided and does boot Basilisk II and SheepShaver.
The original installer image from the Anthology is included on the .dsk.
Note that the .img from Apple is HFS+, so an OS capable of using HFS+ is needed to mount the img.

Macintosh Server software 10.5 (Leopard)

Released: October 26, 2007

This is the very first release of Leopard Server. As the retail consumer version, this software contains BootCamp in his final primary version. The original disc has also a Win partition for it.

Languages supported by this software: English, French, German and Japanese.

Compatibility: 

An Intel or a PowerPC G5 or a G4 (867 MHz at least) processor
At least 1 GB of RAM
At least 20 GB of disk space available
