This is a Bootable Universal install CD of Mac OS 9.2.2, US English. Suitable for most G3 & G4 Macintosh models.

[Top DL]: The 9.2.2 universal OS installer CD's archive is a .zip compressed .iso image. It is OK to burn this back to CD using ImgBurn on Windows or Disk Utility on Mac OS X, or Toast on Mac OS 9/X. This archive has been tested as working, prior to uploading.

Compatibility: 

You can install from this CD onto any of the following computers: Power Mac G4, Power Macintosh G3, iMac, iBook, PowerBook G4, and PowerBook G3 (except the original PowerBook G3).

I have used this to boot up and install to a beige G3 and an eMac G4 OK. This will install onto most early to late model G3 & G4 Macs. However if the Mac cannot boot into OS 9, e.g: Macs with USB 2.0, then this CD will not be of use (as a bootable System Install CD). Check everymac.com for specs if you are unsure if your Mac is capable of booting to Mac OS 9.2.2 or earlier.

PowerLogix manufactured 3rd party G3 and G4 upgrade cards for Macintosh. This is their driver software for a G3 daughter card from 1999. PowerLogix included a full install of LinuxPPC 1999 Release 5, on the CD which came with the G3 daughter card.

I've added a copy of the driver for anyone who needs it, separate from the CD, so they don't need to DL 500 MBs of unrelated Linux software just to get the 400KB driver software.

I'm also archiving the entire CD for historical interest. LinuxPPC was a very good Linux to run at the time, based largely on Red Hat ports.

Compatibility: 

The PowerLogix Drivers are for PPC Macintosh

LinuxPPC 1999 runs on PCI-based Power Macintosh computers and compatibles as well as PowerPC BeBox, PReP and CHRP machines.

I know we had a similar thing on the server, but it seems to be missing.

This upload is a hardly touched boot image for BasiliskII, SheepShaver and MiniVMacII.
(Note that SheepShaver will need a 4MB OldWorld ROM to boot into 7.6.1 or lower - the ROM is hosted on GS12´s awesome site: http://www.redundantrobot.com/macemulator/mac_oldworld_rom4mb.rom.zip )
MiniVMac (Mac Plus) does not boot from this upload, but it should be easy enough to run a custom install for it.

This is a complete set of Mac OS 8.0 in German language, including "Disk Tools" floppies.

A note about the downloads available above:

  • The first file is the Mac OS 8 Installation CD-ROM in German
  • The second file contains the Disk Tools floppies:
    • "Disk Tools 1" is for 68040 computers except the PowerBook 190
    • "Disk Tools 2" is for PowerPC based Macintosh models (including Upgrade Cards) and the PowerBook 190
  • The third file is a Support CD compiled by the german Macintosh retailer Gravis

I am assuming that this is the American release of Macintosh OS 9. I have tested it by installing the promo version of QuarkXpress 5 available on this site. All the other versions of the OS9 install disk available here seem to be the international English version.

This is a collection of different System 6 versions that I have found on different places and put into a toast image ready to burn to a CD.
The toast image contains System 6.0 to 6.0.8 in 29 different languages and variations, from Arabic to Yugoslavian.
Please note that I have not found all languages in all System 6 versions.

If anyone finds a System 6 version that is not included in the toast image, please let me know and I will update the toast image.
