Application file:
BootX allows you to boot the Linux kernel on Old World PowerPC Macs, including NuBus-based systems. It will not work on New World Macs (i.e. iMac G3, Power Macintosh G3 Blue and White, and later).
This download includes the application, system extension, source code, and other information, but not any kernels to boot from.
Some important notes:
- Mac OS must be installed; BootX cannot boot the kernel without Mac OS
- Files must be on an HFS filesystem (not HFS+)
- Requires an uncompressed or coff-compressed kernel
Compatibility:
Requires an Old World PowerPC Macintosh, and Classic Mac OS installed on an HFS (not HFS+) filesystem
